Krystal Walter founded Krystal Walter Matchmaking after beginning her career in commercial real estate and realizing there was a gap in the dating industry for a more thoughtful, selective matchmaking service.
Her own experience with matchmaking played a role in that decision. After trying matchmaking services herself, she found the screening and quality of introductions did not meet her expectations. Rather than accepting that experience, she saw an opportunity to build something better.
Krystal initially launched the company as a side business while working, attending business school and raising her son. She learned the business from the ground up, including building websites, handling administration, developing the brand and meeting clients herself.
What started as a small operation quickly grew.
Over the years, Krystal refined the business from a high-volume model into a much more selective and personalized service focused on compatibility, discretion and quality over quantity.
Today, Krystal Walter Matchmaking works with professionals, executives, entrepreneurs and high-net-worth singles across Canada and the United States.

Krystal grew up in Saskatchewan and later built her life and business in Alberta.

Her father worked as a police officer, while her mother was a hairdresser. Growing up around her mother’s salon meant hearing people share very personal details about their lives, something she never expected would later become such a large part of her own career.

Jane Carstens brings more than two decades of matchmaking and relationship-industry experience to Krystal Walter Matchmaking.
Before joining KWM, Jane founded and operated her own successful matchmaking service in Vancouver and worked extensively with singles in both Toronto and Vancouver.
Over the course of her career, she has helped thousands of people through the dating and relationship process.
She has also appeared in media including Bravo, Global TV and CBC, along with publications such as Elle, The Globe and Mail and Zoomer.
Jane brings a depth of experience that is difficult to replicate. After decades of speaking with singles, she understands that the person behind a profile is often much more nuanced than a written questionnaire can show.
